examinar el rol de la prote\u00edna ciclina D1 \u2013 un regulador de la progresi\u00f3n del ciclo celular que participa en la activaci\u00f3n de las quinasas dependientes de ciclina 4 y 6 (CDK4\/6) \u2013 en el desarrollo de tumores mamarios en el rat\u00f3n. Trabajos anteriores hab\u00edan demostrado que la introducci\u00f3n de una mutaci\u00f3n puntual en el gen que codifica para ciclina D1 en ratones era capaz de prevenir por completo el desarrollo de c\u00e1ncer mamario asociado a la activaci\u00f3n del receptor tiros\u00edn-kinasa HER-2, fenocopiando as\u00ed la acci\u00f3n de inhibidores de CDK4\/6. Parte de este trabajo se ha centrado en caracterizar el fenotipo senescente de c\u00e9lulas tumorales tratadas con inhibidores de CDK4\/6 (y otras drogas antitumorales), particularmente el efecto que tiene el secretoma de las c\u00e9lulas senescentes en la progresi\u00f3n tumoral, la activaci\u00f3n plaquetaria, as\u00ed como la activaci\u00f3n de componentes celulares del sistema inmune, utilizando para ello modelos in vitro de c\u00e1ncer mamario y g\u00e1strico. Este trabajo ha llevado al reconocimiento de que ciertos factores solubles liberados por las c\u00e9lulas tumorales senescentes pueden promover la migraci\u00f3n y la invasi\u00f3n de c\u00e9lulas tumorales no senescentes (en activa proliferaci\u00f3n), as\u00ed como la activaci\u00f3n y agregaci\u00f3n de las plaquetas.
